Success-An unending debate !!!

What is Success ???
It is one of the most talked about term in today's world. When we were born and started going school or came to any other social platform, a pressure to win, win and only win in any case was being put on us. Why ?
When a child goes to school, his parents ask him/her to top the class/school as this is the only key to a safe and secure life and we start following to what they say. So, in this race some of us go ahead, some of us move normally and some stagnate. But, is achieving everything and going ahead in whatever we do, is success and who stagnates is a failure ?
Does a person who attains everything should really always be called as successful ? Does success has nothing to take with happiness, enjoyment, joy, liveliness, love, affection ?
If a person is just able enough to earn for living but having all these attributes in his/her life, will he/she be called as successful ?
Now, what I perceive from the little experience of life that I have, success can not be measured. It has different meanings for different people. For me, getting highest grades may be the criteria for success but for you becoming the cricket captain of the team may seem success. Success is what dreams are made of. Success is about making it in life. Since now a days different material gains have become the measures of success but it is not the true representation of success such as nobody remembers the name of the sports player who has achieved something, everyone remembers the attitude, dedication and spirit of achievement they show. So the attitude makes a difference. An optimistic guy learns something even from worst of his life whereas the pessimist want to forget it as soon as possible.
Even according to the ancient Indian literature, success lies in 4 basic purusharth- dharm, artha, kaam and moksha. So if one does equally well in all aspects of one's life, one is called successful. So the true meaning of Success does not lie in just gaining the material gains but equally giving back to the society and living life in a manner which makes you happy, brings love, peace and joy in the true senses. In gaining all these attributes in life, sometimes we may fail but that is not the end of road to us. We should stand up and start again with because its life- sometimes up and sometimes down. I would like to end this unending explanation by quoting Winston Churchill " Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm".
