NaMo phenomenon

Now when Narendra Damodardas Modi has been elevated to prime ministerial candidate of BJP, I thought to pen down what could be possible pros and cons of NaMo phenomenon:
1) Current Government: With Food Security Bill, government has put final nail in the coffin to make sure that we don't meet up our current account deficit target of 3.8% in this fiscal.
2) Pulse of the industry leaders: Nearly three-quarters of Indian business leaders want Modi to lead the country after the elections, Reuters reported recently citing a survey by the Economic Times/Nielsen. According to the report, the CEOs think the UPA has mismanaged the country over the last few years.
3) Absence of other candidates for BJP: Compared to the other contenders for the post, Narendra Modi has certainly got brilliant credentials. He has revitalised the Gujarat economic scene and it certainly meant something when Ratan Tata shifted the Tata Nano plant there.
4) Finest manager of Indian media: He has got a full fledged PR team that makes sure that his popularity meter keeps on rising. Whatever he says, is presented in a very delicate manner to ensure that he wins all the critics who doubt on him.
5) Motivational Skills: He has excellent organisational capabilities, dynamic personality and can motivate even a corpse to move with his powerful words, to name a few of his qualities.
But with these pros come some cons as well:
1) His alleged role in Gujrat riots: Even though Modi seems to be doing nothing wrong these days, he is still pretty much haunted by his alleged involvement in Godhra riot case; and as is truly said- ‘Corpses are not buried in politics. They are kept alive so that they can speak when the time comes.’ So no prizes for guessing that Modi will have a very tough time ahead maintaining a balance between his image of a staunch enthusiast of Hinduism and keeping Muslims content, if becomes the next PM.
2) His stand for Hindutva: Though Modi claims that he has risen above religions and castes, he is still very much the 'poster boy' of Hindutva and RSS.
So, all in all, NaMo phenomenon is growing and growing rapidly and thus, he may become the next PM, provided congress does not come up with a remedy to cut it.
Come 2014 general election. It would be interesting to see it this time.

Sreesanth Saga

India and Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Shantakumaran Sreesanth has been handed a life ban by the BCCI today for his involvement in spot-fixing in IPL 2013.  At 30, he was already a has-been, someone whose last few headlines had been for bizarre behaviour rather than on-field excellence. Then, you think of the Wanderers less than seven years ago, and logic exits the room, replaced by lingering sadness. You think of the madcap celebration after a six off Andre Nel, and contrast that with  the image taken from the court in May, of a young man being taken in like a common criminal. The numbers reveal as much as they conceal – 87 wickets from 27 Tests, at an average of 37.59. He was neither consistent nor reliable. What those figures don’t tell you, though, is how he could change a game. At the end of the South African tour in January 2007, Allan Donald said that he had not come across any bowler who could hit the pitch with seam bolt upright ball after ball as Sreesanth had done at the Wanderers [he took 8 for 99].
Even as the world marvels at the abilities of Steyn, Anderson and Philander, Sreesanth's career will be filed away in the could-have-been-somebody list. © Getty Images
On the next tour of South Africa, he had Jacques Kallis contorting like a marionette on a string in Durban as India won by 87 runs. History, revisionist or otherwise, doesn’t view the Chappell [coaching] years with much fondness, but the one thing that can’t be disputed is that he came closer than anyone else to harnessing Sreesanth’s full potential. When he got carried away and resorted to Malcolm Marshall impersonations and other futile experiments, Chappell would be in his ear asking: “Were you Good Sree or Bad Sree?” For Chappell, Good Sree meant keeping it simple – pitching it on the fourth stump and getting swing away from the right-hander.
He was a lone kid in the entire dressing room. None of his teammates had a good relationship with him. His family didn’t really help either. As the media in Kerala made him out to be the next big thing, those closest to him opened their doors to the cameras and microphones instead of slamming them firmly shut. With those that should have known what was best for him becoming part of a tawdry rent-a-quote industry.
Sreesanth has said that he will challenge the decision of BCCI in the court, but the swing bowler that India could have got is lost and lost for ever. A sad day in the history of Indian Cricket.

Let Your SENSE Prevail

Often we are at a loss how to react to a particular situation like when someone tries to put you down. At times like these, the weaker amongst us allow others and society in general to dictate our actions. This can lead to messy situations since we are responding to what others feel, not giving in to our own instinctive reaction! You may or may not feel insulted, but those around are eager to convince you of your humiliation ! " How could he have insulted you like that ! You must give it back to him!" Or, "Poor you, I can just imagine how you must be feeling. Don't worry, your time will come!" So much so that you are forced to stop smiling and start worrying about what exactly is wrong with you and how come you never noticed!
Before you let the reactionary rabble rousers take over, allow the Someone within you to take an unprejudiced, calmer and lighter look at the situation. Almost every situation can be turned on its head to be made to look shades better than what it seems at first sight. Not just look, but it can be made to act better for you as well. You can feel insulted or honored, hurt or pleased, happy or sad, as it suits you.
If you do not feel angry, who can ever manage to anger you? With control over the way you feel and react, you can manage the situation around you with incredible ease. And to hell with th e people imagine you should be reacting! Who out there really cares anyway? If queen Kaikeyi had followed her instinct and stayed happy at her stepson Ram's ascension to the throne, she would have chosen a life of happiness and splendor for herself. Instead she allowed her insecurities to be fed by her maid Manthara, insisted on her son Bharat being crowned king anf Ram being exiled; as a result she lost her husband Dashrath and ultimately died a lonely, broken-hearted woman with her son and daughter in law never forgiving her!
There are many Mantharas around, whose life's purpose is rabble-rousing, who go around feeding on others' misfortunes and exaggerating the same. Their position is dependent on those around them doing well or badly, and so they fire and fan emotions all around. Remember, once you let yourself be led by what they think you should be doing, these same people will also be the first to jump onto the other side and leave you alone.
The only intelligent way to react to any situation is to examine it for its positive aspects and make the most of them. What cannot be changed need not be just endured, it can be enjoyed too! Being forced to work extra? Discover the fun aspects of that work and make the most of it! Overlooked for promotion at office? Enjoy another year honing your skills without the added responsibility. Nobody can keep a good man down for long! Beloved walked out on you? Maybe there's someone better waiting for you round the next corner....start looking!

Do we really love ourselves???

Do I really love myself?
This is a question which came across my mind some days ago when I was, tasting failure in the row.
As of now, I don't know whether do I love myself or not but one thing I am sure about is that on those days, I was hating myself.
Is the taste of failure so bitter that it takes love out of you?
Is the success really a parameter to say that I love myself?
Now, when I recall those moments, I find that loving oneself should never be related to how successful or unsuccessful you are. These are the things which comes and passes by in the journey of life. But still, for someone whose passion is success, what would you say about him? Has that person left the right of being loved by oneself, in case one tastes failure?
For such persons, failure creates a frustration and a feeling of hatred deep down their heart because they are never used to such failures and it creates more problem for them when they are on the verge of success and the chance just slips away. Really at this point, I think, everyone at least for a minute must have had thought that he is useless, his life is just a pile of bullshits, he is the biggest dumb in this world and what not. The negative feelings of the whole universe start playing game with the heart of that person. And it causes more pain when one has to put a fake smile on one's face because of social norms. These social norms really make one's life more like a hell, they just put final nail in the coffin. But still one say that one LOVES this society !!! Is it true?
Then who is making fool of whom?
Don't misjudge it with that one is getting jealous of others. But what does one need in such dire straits?
Now comes the point of inner love for oneself. If the hope, love, enthusiasm, ability to fight back remain unaltered for oneself, one can come out of that trauma. One thing that life has taught me is that nobody, believe me, nobody can teach one what one can teach oneself. So one need to love oneself even in the hardest situations, no matter what has happened. Life is like a cycle. It moves like the curve of sin x. One should never discourage oneself. Just love yourself to the fullest and power to fight the miseries will come from the innermost core of your soul and body as well.

Success-An unending debate !!!

What is Success ???
It is one of the most talked about term in today's world. When we were born and started going school or came to any other social platform, a pressure to win, win and only win in any case was being put on us. Why ?
When a child goes to school, his parents ask him/her to top the class/school as this is the only key to a safe and secure life and we start following to what they say. So, in this race some of us go ahead, some of us move normally and some stagnate. But, is achieving everything and going ahead in whatever we do, is success and who stagnates is a failure ?
Does a person who attains everything should really always be called as successful ? Does success has nothing to take with happiness, enjoyment, joy, liveliness, love, affection ?
If a person is just able enough to earn for living but having all these attributes in his/her life, will he/she be called as successful ?
Now, what I perceive from the little experience of life that I have, success can not be measured. It has different meanings for different people. For me, getting highest grades may be the criteria for success but for you becoming the cricket captain of the team may seem success. Success is what dreams are made of. Success is about making it in life. Since now a days different material gains have become the measures of success but it is not the true representation of success such as nobody remembers the name of the sports player who has achieved something, everyone remembers the attitude, dedication and spirit of achievement they show. So the attitude makes a difference. An optimistic guy learns something even from worst of his life whereas the pessimist want to forget it as soon as possible.
Even according to the ancient Indian literature, success lies in 4 basic purusharth- dharm, artha, kaam and moksha. So if one does equally well in all aspects of one's life, one is called successful. So the true meaning of Success does not lie in just gaining the material gains but equally giving back to the society and living life in a manner which makes you happy, brings love, peace and joy in the true senses. In gaining all these attributes in life, sometimes we may fail but that is not the end of road to us. We should stand up and start again with because its life- sometimes up and sometimes down. I would like to end this unending explanation by quoting Winston Churchill " Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm".

Just do it Anyway

People are often unreasonable,
irrational, and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind,
people may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful,
you will win some unfaithful friends
and some genuine enemies.
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and
sincere people may deceive you.
Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating,
others could destroy overnight.
Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness,
some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today,
will often be forgotten.
Do good anyway.

Give the best you have,
and it will never be enough.
Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis,
it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway!

Mind Set: Just Bank on Yourself

Our self worth is based on how we feel about ourselves. It is not about anyone coming to us and telling that you are worthless. Man starts his life with dreams and aspirations. These aspirations and dreams are then converted into efforts which, if put in properly, gives great results and we make something pleasurable out of it. But what if we fail in our efforts??? A whole bunch of people will come and tell you that you are useless, good for nothing, worthless and what not. But this is the time to bank on ourselves. So should we stop dreaming or should we stop putting efforts in? No, we should never underestimate ourselves. It is us who can shake the world. Who is not aware of the ant story that is being taught to us in V standard. Has it been limited to our syllabus books only? That small ant tells us the importance of self worth.
When the man came on this earth, in the early ages, he was having nothing. But he was having dreams, aspirations so he put in efforts and invented fire and made the world we see today by gradual improvisation.
A negative thought just puts you one step away from your goal. So when you are already one step away after being failed, why go further away by bringing negative thoughts in. We all are unique and have different capabilities. It is not always that everyone will succeed in every venture he puts efforts in, but everyone will succeed in at least one venture and this is the venture that we should identify ourselves because no one else knows us better than ourselves. So its high time to turn our mind sets in positive direction, identify our goals and work on them. Tomorrow will be ours. I would like to end it by quoting Swami Vivekanand "Be Strong, You are born to Win".
